RSS & Podcasts

OK so I have fallen a bit behind after having the something flu and now am trying desperately to catch up. Technology seems to be against me in this but I have managed to have a play with RSS and Podcasts. RSS looks really useful but you still have to have the time and planning skills to check out what has arrived. I get the feeling I will end up ditching them all without actually reading them, no matter how cool or interesting. But I do love the fact that its possible and figure that if I was ever to get an Ipod or MP3 it might all seem a bit more possible/practicle to catch up while doing other things, cooking for voracious boys, walking voracious dogs etc...

Photos, Images Mashups and Stuff

Have actually had a great time doing the small but significant (to me) activites relating to to photos and images, just a toe in the water but well worth returning to at another time. I can actually see the point! Loved the Color Pickr and even managed to post my wordle on my blog before reading Vanessa's instructions on the Skillsbox. So proud of myself! Pathetic I know but there you go... Now what's next?

Looks Like Lambie's Beach

East Coast Canterbury
Originally uploaded by Alex-Robinson
This photo taken of the beach somewhere along the east coast of Canterbury is SO reminiscent to me of my childhood. Friends, the Lambies, had a farm which bordered onto the coast at Pendarves and it was just like this! Steep cliffs topped with broken down fences, always at least one dead sheep at the bottom, scrunching stones, crashing waves and a sense of brooding almost-danger. We used to take our horses down the treacherously narrow and winding path to the beach and they always picked up on the atmosphere or our fear or both and turned into wild things, barely controllable with flaring nostrils and tails held high like flags, prancing and skittering over the stones and carrying us dangerously close to those fearsome waves. The stories of salmon fishermen, dogs and other hapless creatures who had entered the water along this coast, been dragged out or beaten by the undertow and never returned were legendary and never far from our minds when in this sea's wild presence. What a wonderful photo. What wonderful memories.
